Circle of Friends giving begins at $1,000 and allows you to focus your gift either on particular programs or to support our full range of programming. Donors contributing $2,000 or more to the gallery will be recognized as Friends of the Gallery.
Circle of Friends members are invited to private tours of the Gallery, receptions with artists, and otherwise enjoy unparalleled access to the Society’s programs. Join a community of individuals who share your passion for the arts and culture of Japan.
Patron Circle ($1,000 - 2,499)
Our Patron Circle members play a pivotal role in the success of our programs.

1854 Circle ($2,500 - 4,999)
The 1854 Circle commemorates the 1854 U.S.-Japan Treaty of Peace and Amity (Treaty of Kanagawa) affirming a "sincere and cordial amity" between the peoples of the United States and Japan.
All Patron Circle benefits plus:
- Invitations to exclusive receptions with corporate executives and visiting dignitaries
- Personal ticket assistance for public programs
Junzo Yoshimura Circle ($5,000 - 9,999)
The Junzo Yoshimura Circle honors the architect of Japan Society's building, which was built in 1971.
All 1854 Circle benefits plus:
- Invitation to a private lunch with Japan Society's president
- Priority seating at Japan Society events

Lindsay Russell Circle ($10,000 - 24,999)
Honoring Lindsay Russell (President, 1910-19), who declared the establishment of Japan Society in 1907.
John D. Rockefeller 3rd Circle ($25,000 and above)
Honoring John D. Rockefeller 3rd (President and Chairman, 1952-78) and his legacy of leadership.
