Justin Leach - Modeling & Rigging Supervisor, Lucasfilm Animation
Justin is currently working for George Lucas’s new startup animation studio, Lucasfilm Animation located at Skywalker Ranch in Nicasio, California. He graduated from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota Florida with a B.F.A in Computer Animation. During that time he got his start working with syndicated cartoonists Mike Peters and Tom Armstrong, as well as working on two live action films, Great Expectations (20th Century Fox ) and Palmetto (Warner Bros.) After graduating, he joined Blue Sky Studios and worked on such projects as the Academy Award winning short film Bunny, several commercials, and Blue Sky’s first feature film, Ice Age. After living 4 years in New York, Justin had the unique opportunity to move to Japan and work at Production I.G as a CG creator on Mamoru Oshii’s film, Innocence: Ghost in the Shell 2. After nearly 3 years living in Japan, he returned to the United States.In February of 2005, Justin joined Lucasfilm Animation as a CG Supervisor to help recruit talent for the new studio in Singapore and Skywalker Ranch. Currently, Justin is the Modeling and Rigging Supervisor, overseeing the character pipeline for a new CG animated television series based on the Star Wars franchise.
