The Mt. Fuji Dialogue, cosponsored by the Japan Center for Economic Research and the Japan Institute of International Affairs, began in November of 2014 as a forum to discuss the current and future relationship of Japan and the United States. Modeled after the conferences hosted by the World Economic Forum in Switzerland and the Aspen Institute in the U.S., the dialogue aims to bring high-level government officials, experts, and opinion leaders together to open fresh, off-the-record talks. Marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, the Mt. Fuji Dialogue delegation’s visit to New York City offers the opportunity to discuss a broad range of topics impacting U.S.-Japan relations today. In this seminar, a panel of prominent Japanese leaders share their thoughts on the U.S.-Japan Alliance, the future of Japan’s security policy, the prospects of new trade initiatives, and the blueprint of economic prosperity for both countries.
