Who’s Who in the field of post-1945 Japanese art history, aka “PoNJA,” will offer a series of intensive seminars of their specialty areas in a classroom set up right in the middle of the fall Japan Society Gallery exhibition. The second of the three PoNJA seminar series will invite Dr. Ming Tiampo, Associate Professor of Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and co-curator of the highly acclaimed 2013 exhibition Gutai: Splendid Playground at the Guggenheim Museum. Dr. Tiampo will address Japan’s artistic internationalism beginning in the 1950s.
