2011, 85 min., HD Cam, in Japanese with English subtitles. Directed by Stu Levy.

Introduction and Q and A with Director Stu Levy.

On March 11, 2011, Japan’s Tohoku coastal region was destroyed by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and devastating tsunami that followed.

The director – an American living in Japan – filmed the aftermath during his trips to Tohoku as a volunteer. The documentary film focuses four perspectives of the tragedy and its real-life heroes; shelter, school, family and volunteers.

Through the film’s themes of vitality and hope, we gain insight into how our own inner strength can help us if we ever find ourselves in a life-threatening situation. We can all learn from the powerful resilience of these incredible real-life heroes.
