Champion of J-techno pop, the ‘forever-young’ band Hikashu
makes their North American debut. Formed by vocalist Makigami Koichi
, Hikashu has made a splash in various music scenes by combining, rock, pop and techno, whereby taking listeners on unparalleled musical journeys. The group’s members Mita Freeman
(guitar, sampler), Sakaide Masami
(bass, electronics), Shimizu Kazuto
(piano, synthesizer, bass-clarinet) and Sato Masaharu
(drums, voice). For this high energy concert, Hikashu is joined by special guests, the beyond kawaii
, hyper and flamboyant Japanese singer, actress, TV personality and fashion front-runner Tomoe Shinohara
(aka Shinorer, シノラー) and Steve Eto
(percussion). Popular in the West as a singer for the anime series Kodocha
, Shinorer’s distinguished voice will contend with Makigami’s “super vocals” for the first time ever in North America.
