Performing Arts
Coming Fall 2009:
Japan Transatlantic: Tokio-Berlin
In this modern era where boundaries--national, cultural and conceptual--are constantly bent and traversed, Japanese culture is not confined to the geographical borders of Japan, and many international artists are creating works inspired by Japan. Japan Transatlantic focuses on Japan-themed performances that were developed outside of Japan by artists based in Berlin. The resulting work is truly an international hybrid, with unique reflection on its Japanese roots.
