Nihon NY – Episode 15: Yuko Shimizu

Thirty-six years ago, designer Yuko Shimizu created the iconic Hello Kitty character when she worked at Sanrio. Now a freelance designer, Shimizu has just launched the Rebecca Bonbon character, and is touring the globe to promote the petite French bulldog. While she was in New York, Ms. Shimizu stopped by Japan Society and spoke with us about her background, inspiration and recent creative endeavors.
