Discover how to order food in Japanese with these 2 expressions!

#1 sumimasen すみません − excuse me (use to get the waiter’s attention)

#2 ________ onegaishimasu おねがいします − ______ please

Counters (general use)

Place before onegaishimasu when ordering for the number of items desired.

1 – hitotsu ひとつ
2 – futatsu ふたつ
3 – mittsu みっつ
4 – yottsu よっつ
5 – itsutsu いつつ
6 – muttsu むっつ
7 – nanatsu ななつ
8 – yattsu やっつ
9 – kokonotsu ここのつ
10 – too とう

Use the particle to (と) as "and" to order different items.

ex. 5 ramens and 4 beers and 1 ice cream please.
5ラーメンと4ビールと1アイスクリームおねがいします。
Itsutsu raamen to yottsu biiru to hitotsu aisu kuriimu onegaishimasu.
