Kaori Kuroda (黒田かをり) - Co-Director, Interim Director of Hottenkai Campaign, CSO Network Japan

She has been dealing with issues of poverty and international development for the past 12 years by promoting government-business-civil society cooperation, primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. She co-founded a Japanese campaign, “Hottokenai Sekai no Mazushisa” for a global campaign named ‘the Global Call to Action against Poverty,’ in 2004, and the CSO Network Japan has served as a secretariat for the campaign. Prior to her current position, Ms. Kuroda worked as a freelance writer and researcher in Tokyo and London (2001-2003) and worked with the Asia Foundation Japan Office as Senior Program Officer (1994-1997) and Assistant Representative (1997-2001). Before moving to the nonprofit sector, she worked at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. in Tokyo and the Center on Japanese Economy and Business at the Columbia University School of Business in New York.
Ms. Kuroda has written and published many articles on civil society, corporate social responsibility, Millennium Development Goals and multi-stakeholder partnership. She received a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1991. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), by the authority of the Board of Trustees, Illinois Board of Examiners
