Nadine Maleh - Executive Director, Institute for Public Architecture

Nadine Maleh joined Common Ground Community in early 2002 after working for several years in California and New York as an architectural designer. As the Director of Design and Construction, Ms. Maleh was responsible for the planning, design and construction supervision for housing development projects at Common Ground. In 2008 she joined the Common Ground National team as the Chief Design Officer, and is responsible for all design and construction aspects of projects in New Orleans, Connecticut, Upstate New York, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles. Her expertise includes green design, building programs based on special needs populations, and the integration of health concerns into building design. She is a member of the Architectural League of New York, Architecture for Humanity, the Housing Committee for the Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program in the northeast, and has been a visiting critic and lecturer at Columbia University, Pratt School of Architecture, Parsons School of Design, and Yale University. Ms. Maleh earned her B.A. in architectural studies from Tufts University, and her Masters of Architecture with Honors from Illinois Institute of Technology.
