The global recovery continues on track as the U.S. sustains its steady growth, China maintains momentum based on sound development and Japan makes a moderate recovery. However, economic and political risks – or rather threats – are mounting: the Trump administration, China’s looming slowdown, East Asian geopolitical tensions and the sluggish economic reforms in Japan. The changes in monetary policies by advanced countries also may harm financial markets. How should we deal with these challenges and analyze the global economic trends going into 2018? In this program, speakers discuss the forces shaping the global economy, their impact on economic growth, and prospects for the U.S., Japan and Asia.
