Art Cart: Playing with Pixels

Sunday, December 14, 2014

teamLab (est. 2001), United, Fragmented, Repeated, and Impermanent World (detail), 2013. Interactive digital work, 8 screens; endless, 9:16; sound by Hideaki Takahashi. Courtesy of the artist and Pace Gallery.

Art that plays and art as play are part of teamLab's spirit. Interact with their digital artwork United, Fragmented, Repeated and Impermanent World in Garden of Unearthly Delights and see how color pixels make up different animal images that react to the viewer's movement. In this hands-on workshop, artist-educator Luned Palmer shows participants how to make their own pixelated animals. Recommended for children 6 and above.

Tickets:
$12/$5 Japan Society members; children ages 2 or under free. Corporate and individual member families may purchase tickets at the discounted price.
