Although considerable progress has been made, women continue to face many career development hurdles that need to be overcome. Even in Japan and the U.S., women in positions of leadership in business and government remain far too low. It is important to overcome the attitudes and expectations surrounding gender roles, which are a major barrier to promoting women’s equality. This program focuses on the critical role men play in women’s empowerment. Speakers examine men’s involvement in women’s empowerment, discussing the promotion of women’s leadership in the workplace and measures encouraging men to take more active roles in responsibilities outside of the workplace.

Nancy Bumgarner, Partner, Department of Professional Practice, Co-chair of Women’s Advisory Board, KPMG LLP
