GALLERY TALK

Sunday, December 3, 2 PM

Cap off your weekend at Japan Society Gallery with these energetic, 30-minute conversations with emerging scholars and other specialists. Drop by to hear their unique perspectives on select highlights from Hiroshi Sugimoto: Gates of Paradise.

Valerie Zinner is a Ph.D. candidate in Japanese Art History of Columbia University. Her research focuses on early modern illustrated narratives (particularly those of the Sumiyoshi School) and their relationship to the way in which the Edo Period engaged with class and history. She received her M.A. from Harvard University in 2014.

Free with admission to the exhibition. Talks are limited to 30 attendees, on a first-come, first-served basis.
