Concerns have been rising over the mounting tensions in Northeast Asia and the potential for accidental conflict due to increased militaristic posturing in the region. Territorial disputes between China, Japan and Korea, along with escalating levels of nationalism, have contributed to a chilling of relations between the major countries of the region. At the same time, the U.S. is making a concerted effort to increase its presence in the region while encouraging diplomacy between the nations. Our group of experts from Japan, China, Korea and the U.S. will discuss the current state of regional security and relations in Northeast Asia in order to determine how to improve ties and prevent conflict.
