To register, please call the Corporate Program at 212-715-1208.

Concerns have been rising over the mounting tensions in Northeast Asia and the potential for accidental conflict due to increased militaristic posturing in the region. Territorial disputes between China, Japan and Korea, along with escalating levels of nationalism, have contributed to a chilling of relations between the major countries of the region. At the same time, the U.S. is making a concerted effort to increase its presence in the region while encouraging diplomacy between the nations. Our group of experts from Japan, China, Korea and the U.S. will discuss the current state of regional security and relations in Northeast Asia in order to determine how to improve ties and prevent conflict.

Panelists:
Zhu Feng, Professor, School of International Studies, Peking University; Deputy Director of the Center for International & Strategic Studies (CISS)
The Hon. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Professor, Meiji Institute for Global Affairs, former Member of the House of Councilors, former Minister for Foreign Affairs, and former Minister of the Environment, Japan
Chung Min Lee, Ambassador for National Security Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Professor of International Relations, Graduate School of International Studies, Yonsei University
