Robots have come a long way over the last few decades, slowly making their way out into the real world. In the United States, from robo-advisors in finance to industrial robots in the manufacturing industry, we are witnessing the rise of robots across many industries. In Japan, robots are becoming a common sight, assisting visitors at airports and greeting them at malls. Furthermore, Tokyo will be using robots for when it hosts the fast approaching Summer Games. What functions can robots perform? What impact will robots have on our future society? In this program, experts introduce cutting-edge robots, discussing the evolving role of robots, the integration of robots into our society, and its impact on the future.

Speakers:
Heather Knight, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Oregon State University; Founder, Marilyn Monrobot
Tomotaka Takahashi, CEO, ROBO GARAGE Co., Ltd.; Research Associate Professor, The University of Tokyo; Visiting Professor, Osaka Electro-Communications University.
