This seminar discusses the latest legal and commercial trends and policies with respect to the exploration, acquisition and development of U.S. shale oil and gas properties and the export of LNG to Japan. John Mauel (Pillsbury) will describe (i) basic legal concepts associated with ownership of U.S. shale oil and gas properties, (ii) key agreements involved in U.S. shale oil and gas exploration and development, and (iii) commercial structure options used to acquire and develop interests in U.S. shale oil and gas properties. Bob Gibb (Navigant Consulting) will cover industry trends and provide insight and analysis on the current state of foreign investment in U.S. shale oil and gas properties and LNG export proposals. Shinya Akiyama (Pillsbury) moderates the discussion.
