After the U.S. election, President Trump reaffirmed America’s commitment to security and economic cooperation with Japan. On the economic front, the U.S.-Japan Economic Dialogue has been formed to promote prosperity for the two countries, yet the way forward remains uncertain. Will Trump remold decades-old alliance with Japan? Will Trump link economic and trade issues with security? What lies ahead for U.S.-Japan economic ties? In this program, speakers discuss Trump’s economic policies and its impact on Japan’s economy, the progress of the high-level economic dialogue, and ways to expand opportunities for trade and investment.
