Join Japanese-language students and native Japanese speakers at this informal virtual language exchange to practice your Japanese. After a short presentation by our J-Culture guest, we will move into breakout rooms grouped by level to chat. Levels include introductory, beginner, intermediate, and advanced. 日本に興味のある人たちや日本語を勉強中の人たちと気軽に会話を楽しみましょう。茶道のパフォーマンスを見学した後で、日本語、英語のレベル別にグループに分かれて語学交換を行います。日本人の方、英語を勉強中の方、ふるってご参加ください！

During this event, Sachiko Kogure will talk about her unique experience and thoughts around “origami”. She will share Japanese culture and sensibilities through the Japanese origami (folding paper) lifestyle. She will also show her most popular holiday origami gifts and will share her secret “how-to-upgrade your ordinary origami item to a one-of-a-kind holiday gift!” !” イベントでは、小暮幸子先生が、折り紙に纏わる面白い経験や考え方をお話しされます。折り紙を通して、日本文化の繊細さや生活様式について考えてみましょう。また、一番の人気作品である、折り紙のホリデーギフトを披露して頂きます。どのように普通の折り紙をホリデーギフトに仕上げるか教えて頂きましょう。

About the Guest:
Sachiko Kogure has been making “Simple and beautiful origami” crafts in the Atlanta area in Georgia, USA. She has been participating with her origami works in JapanFest in Atlanta since 2012 as well as local craft shows. Her variety of origami centerpieces for tables in annual galas and events organized by Japan America Society of Georgia are loved by the guests every year. Being a language teacher (of French and of Japanese) in public and private schools and institutions for almost 20 years in the Atlanta area, she has occasions to teach origami to American students.
小暮幸子さんは、”シンプルで美しい”折り紙作品をアトランタで製作されています。地元の作品展だけでなく、2012年からはアトランタのジャパンフェスティバルにも出品されています。ジョージアのジャパンアメリカソサエティ主催の毎年のイベントでは、折り紙を使ったテーブルの置物が大変好評です。また、アトランタで20年間フランス語、日本語教師として活動されており、アメリカの生徒さんに折り紙も教えています。
