110th Anniversary Celebration in Tokyo

110th Anniversary Celebration in Tokyo

As our extraordinary 110th Anniversary year came to a close, we held a celebratory ceremony and reception in Tokyo to further deepen our awareness and strengthen our relationships in Japan. Held on Wednesday, April 18 at the Hotel Okura Tokyo, and hosted by our Chairman Joe Perella and our President Motoatsu Sakurai, the event brought together over 270 distinguished international guests across business, policy, arts and culture communities.

We were deeply honored to have the presence of Their Imperial Highnesses Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako for this special celebration. The evening also included a special congratulatory message from Prime Minister Abe, delivered on his behalf by Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Kotaro Nogami and remarks from Justin Rockefeller, representing the Rockefeller Family. At the reception, Foreign Minister Taro Kono made meaningful remarks and gave a toast. Entertainment from noh performers Hirotada Kamei and Takanobu Sakaguchi and sister duo Charan-Po-Rantan were well-received.

In light of this momentous occasion and our wonderful anniversary year, we would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Japan Society community, and especially our dedicated members, for your continued commitment and support.
