Japan Society Film screens a diverse selection of classic and contemporary Japanese cinema throughout the year—including retrospectives of seminal directors, thematic series, and special screenings of international, U.S. and NY premieres—and organizes JAPAN CUTS: Festival of New Japanese Film, the largest festival of its kind in North America.


Monthly Classics

Year-round screenings of beloved classics, hidden gems and recent discoveries of Japanese cinema. Tickets are just $5 for Japan Society members!


Special Screenings

International, U.S. and NY premieres, exclusive sneak preview screenings, and other special film events scheduled throughout the year. If you are interested in attending Japan Society Members-Only sneak preview screenings, please consider signing up for a Japan Society membership.
