Performing Arts

2014-2015 Season

Japan Society Performing Arts 2014-15 season was bookended by two major series and full of long-running initiatives. The Shamisen Sessions ushered in the Fall season with concerts that explored the instrument’s diverse musical styles. The Spring Stories from the War series, with three theater programs, honored the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII and encourages reflection through a contemporary lens. In between, favorites such as the Contemporary Dance Showcase, Play Reading and the latest from Japan Society’s commission program were offered.
