Programming is designed to inform and to provide a gateway through which Americans can appreciate the powerful global influence of Japan’s culture and its many trend-defining artisans. Our programs bring together experts and practitioners for provocative discussions on diverse topics including aesthetics, consumer culture and cuisine.

Marie Kondo 'Sparks Joy' at Japan Society

On January 21, 2016, Japanese tidying guru and international best-selling author Marie Kondo shared tips for transforming homes into happy, organized spaces at Japan Society. Named one of Time Magazine’s Most Influential People in the World in 2015, Marie developed a home-organizing method that has taken the world by storm.
