NYC Hanami
Sakura season is upon us! Best spots to enjoy the blossoms include:

The best time to see sakura is typically from mid-April to early-May. Blossoms only last for a short time, so be sure to enjoy them while you can!

This past January, Japan Society threw a New Year's celebration to ring in 2017. Parents, children, and family members of all ages practiced taiko drumming, learned how to pound rice to make mochi, decorated traditional hyotans (gourds), and made their own nenga-jo (New Year's cards).

Twilight Masquerade
In the spirit of Japan Society Gallery’s exhibition Simon Starling: At Twilight, members donned their very own disguises for this after-hours masquerade.

"Sake Ninja" Chris Johnson was on hand to whip up a signature sake cocktail created just for Japan Society. Music included the jazzy stylings of the Chris Whittaker Trio. DJ Aki followed, spinning until closing time.
