Circle of Friends Oshogatsu Celebration
at Japan Society

Akemashite omedetou-gozaimasu! On Wednesday, January 14, Japan Society welcomed 2015, Year of the Sheep, with our annual Oshogatsu celebration. Circle of Friends members were invited to join us for a night of delicious food, invigorating performance, and lively conversations. Traditional Japanese New Year's foods such as osechi-ryori and ozoni soup were provided, and guests were able to choose from Japanese sake or their choice of wine.

The peak of the night was undoubtedly the exciting shishimai (Lion Dance) performance by the heralded Soh Daiko drum troupe based in New York. But most importantly, we were overjoyed to be joined by a wide range of guests, including members of our Board of Directors such as Lifetime Director Paul Volcker, as well as Chairman Wilbur L. Ross, Jr. The New Year beckons for a commemoration of life’s gifts, and we thank all who support Japan Society!
