Lawson’s Takeshi Niinami on the Next Step for Japan’s Growth Strategy

Since its introduction last year, Japan’s growth strategy plan has received praise and criticism in good measure. The plan, which has come to be known as the ‘Third Arrow of Abenomics,’ seeks to create a ‘decade of revitalization’ through reform of both Japan’s government and business sectors. On June 24th, the Abe administration released its first set of revisions to its growth strategy. In this lecture, Takeshi Niinami, Chairman of Lawson Inc., Vice-Chairman of Keizai Doyukai and one of Abe’s economic advisors on the Industrial Competitiveness Council of Japan, as well as President of Suntory Holdings Inc. starting in October, will discuss the growth strategy as it stands post-revision.
