The 2012 Outlook: After a Turbulent 2011, What Lies Ahead for the Global Economy?

The year 2011 was one of great turbulence, with the sovereign debt crisis in Europe, a budget deadlock in the U.S., the earthquake, tsunami and stalled economy in Japan, and the unsettled growth of emerging countries. Japan Society hosts a panel of highly respected analysts to examine the outlook for the coming year. In addition to a review of 2011 and insights and analysis for 2012, the panelists will discuss a range of issues including: the recovery in Japan, the position of the U.S. dollar, the political landscape worldwide, including the U.S. presidential race of 2012, and the health of financial institutions in the major economies.
