In this lesson of Waku Waku Japanese, Erin explains words for various landmarks and places you might encounter while sightseeing as well as how to plan out activities in the future!

sightseeing – kankou
かんこう

fieldtrip – ensoku
えんそく

park – kouen
こうえん

botanical garden – shokubutsuen
しょくぶつえん

zoo – doubutsuen
どうぶつえん

aquarium – suizokukan
すいぞくかん

library – toshokan
としょかん

museum – hakubutsukan
はくぶつかん

art museum – bijutsukan
びじゅつかん

generally refer to a space outdoors -"en"

generally refer to a structure or building -"kan"

let’s go to the art museum on Friday – kinyoubi ni bijutsukan ni ikimashou
きにょうびにびじゅつかんにいきましょう

let’s go to the zoo on the weekend – shuumatsu ni doubutsuen ni ikimashou
しゅうまつにどうぶつえんにいきましょう

let’s go to Japan Society – Japan Society ni ikimashou
Japan Society にいきましょう

take a picture – shashin o toru
しゃしんをとる

let’s take a picture together – issho ni shashin o torimashou
いっしょにしゃしんをとりましょう
